I just reread this, partly because the subtitle makes me laugh so hard. Great story!

I went to a Phillies game this summer and they lost, 15-3. The Philly fans were, of course, completely understanding.

Ha! I'm sure they were. Quietly compassionate, reserved and supportive - always.

I'm one of those know-nothing-bout-basketball people and I still found it hilarious

I'm so glad - thank you, Karen!

These two are a masterclass in how not to love. I love this whole story. You capture the joy of rooting for a team, as well as the agony of defeat, which is also part of the equation so well.

Nothing I love more than texting "You watching?" and having you answer "Yes!!!" Go Knicks!

I'm so glad you loved it, George - and I love all the Knicks you love - including, now (thanks to you) Harthorne Wingo.
