Your people have spoken,Debra; more please! No one turns a phrase, observation or simile quite like you. Thank you for writing, sharing and bringing is into your world. (And what a treat to see you last week!)
...and just to carry on. Y'all are lucky to have the NYT to complain about. I gave up my Wash Post subscription and am sad to see the decrease in quality of smaller papers e.g. Austin American Statesman in TX.
Amen to feeling lucky to have a functioning newspaper - and yes, I gave up my Post subscription too. I'm sad to see the decrease of small papers... and so much more. I alternate between being obsessed with the constant "what now" of it all and having to turn away. But making people turn away and shut up seems part of the strategy, so I force myself to look at the train wreck. Oh, Zeba. xx
Well...I love the way your brain and expression of thoughts work. So, naturally I enjoyed the Ruff stream of thought. ('Ruff Stuff'?) I wish I would take some notes on the better daily streams my brain provides, but I'm lazy. And while I'm not complaining AT ALL, you did work some clothing comments in there re caps and fur. Miss you, Z
I love Ruff Stuff!! And yes, I definitely worked a couple of wardrobe references in there, didn't I? Thank you for missing me even though I'm shallow. I miss you, even though you're lazy. (and god knows I'm lazy too. ) xx
Loved this one...and I can read your posts no matter how long they are...and yes, I was about to Wordle when the email popped up so I jumped from wordle to Debra...of course. I don't think I'll ever get to finish the Times...which only upsets me and scares me and ruins my day...
David - getting YOU to put off Wordle might be the biggest feather my cap could ask for! I'm well aware of your stats, Mister! Yes, the Times.. TV news... all of it makes me ill - I'm just trying to write my way out of it - the only thing that envelops and enables me to ignore the madness for a few hours. God bless distraction. One of the reasons I love work.
Please please keep 'em coming. I'm afraid the NY Times does that to me too ... but then again, emails from you (and George's blog) do that too. Funny (and inspiring) interludes to the day. Have a great weekend.
YES!!! Loved it!
Oh, I'm so glad!! Thank you, Natalie! xx

Roberta, you're no slouch when it comes to turning a phrase, so thank you! As for seeing you, the pleasure was mine as well!
Coffee with one of my favorite people in front of a fireplace = everything I could ever want on a winter day. xx
Yes, yes and yes!
Thank you and thank you! x

I like the Ruff idea!! Fun!
Good!!!! I'm so glad!
Yes, very witty!

Yes.... and ABSOLUTELY!
Thank you... and YAY!!!
Great piece! Every once in a while I say I'm going to give up the NYT but it never lasts.
I hear you, Jim. But thank God we have it. I almost feel like I need to say "for now" in light of all that's happening but I won't say that.
Haha, I can relate! Today, I got distracted by "How to boil an egg?"
Love the bit about the Roy family ducking under helicopter propellers. Yes, keep doing the Ruffs!
Haha - wait - there's a guide to boiling an egg? I need it!

Oh Gavin! It's good to know I'm not alone and yes, George's blog stops everything - honored to be in his company. Thank you so much for reading.
