Such a complicated topic. So many conflicting emotions. Thank you for putting it out there, weaving together poignant vignettes that brought the issues together. Now we need to find a solution to this horrible mess.

oh Debra, you always write such provocative, thoughtful, heartfelt essays and this one is no different. Thank you for sharing all this with so many -- it stings with questions, truth, pain that come from your personal necklace/jewel box but resonate with so many.
